Spriggan
Spriggan is an enemy in Madou Monogatari A, resembling a muscular, mecha-like ghost with elements of a genie (blue skin, gold earrings/bracelets, pointy ears, and a wispy tail). He is originally from Seirei Senshi Spriggan, a vertical shooter also developed by Compile, where he was the player's ship and took on a more detailed and occult-inspired design. His name is derived from a creature in Cornish folklore, also called spriggan.
Trivia
- Spriggan's design in Madou Monogatari A bears much resemblance to the character of the Genie from Disney's 1992 animated film Aladdin. Given how Aladdin debuted just a year before the release of Madou Monogatari A, and how Disney's properties are quite popular in Japan, it's likely this was intentional.
