O Tee & O

O is a crew member of the Tetship, being Tee's partner with the duty of reporting on the Starship Tetra's status. All he can say is "pi" ("bi" (ビ) in the Japanese version), and can be seen as a Tetris equivalent to Carbuncle. He is based on the O Tetrimino.

Biography

This article or section is currently incomplete.

Reason: Missing information on O's personality.

Appearance

O is a spherical yellow creature with two O-Tetrimino-like protrusions on the top of his head, resembling antennae or pigtails, and a pair of beady eyes. He has light-yellow arms that end with four-fingered hands, and he is shown and stated to lack legs in his lose pose and in Chapter 8 of Puyo Puyo Tetris, respectively. He is almost always seen riding on a cloud that darkens whenever he is angry or using certain spells.

Abilities

While they have yet to be named, O uses electricity and wind in his spells. During his counter animation, he will cross his arms and create a rainbow pulse.

O is stated to have multiple functions. As the commutations officer of the S.S. Tetra, he sends the reports Tee makes to Ex. It is stated in a description of his Puyo Puyo Quest ★4 card that he calculates the flight path by drifting through space. His ★7 card also states that he's the healer of the crew as well.

Relationships

Carbuncle
O and Carbuncle are usually shown to be good friends with each other. In Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, Arle comments on how well they are getting along with each other, despite having only just met.
Ex
O used to be Ex's partner prior to becoming Keeper of Dimensions. Ex is one of the only individuals who can understand O, along with Tee. As shown in Chapter 6 of Puyo Puyo Tetris, O appears to have been the only one who could retain memories of Ex, even after he became the Keeper of Dimensions.
Tee
O is Tee's most trusted partner and is the one who records and transmits his captain's reports to Ex. Similar to Arle and Carbuncle, O is normally always at Tee's side. Tee is one of the only individuals who can understand O, along with Ex. O is also shown to be concerned for Tee, when he decides that he will take Ex's place as the Keeper of Dimensions.

History

In both Puyo Puyo Tetris titles, O is primarily seen alongside Tee in most of his scenes, and reacts alongside him as well.

Puyo Puyo Tetris

O makes his first appearance at the beginning of Chapter 1, alongside Tee. Tee calls for O to send a routine report, when the two of them are made aware of Ringo's sudden presence and go to investigate. After Ringo and Tee battle, O tags along with them as they search for Amitie, Arle, and Carbuncle. When the SS Tetra gets swarmed with Puyos, O works with Carbuncle and Arle to clear away all the Puyos.

O reappears in Chapter 2, where he is assessing the current state of the SS Tetra and its missing crewmates alongside Tee. O tags along with Tee and Ringo to help track down Jay & Elle and Ess. In Chapter 3, O has a battle with Carbuncle and Arle in the Constellation Zone to help repair the SS Tetra with "a clash between the two most adorable sidekicks".

Tee ends up fighting an illusion of O in Chapter 6, after assuming that he would be fighting the previous Tetris King. The real O ends up having a battle against an illusion of Tee, but not before having a confrontation with Ex. Ex thanks O for always sending Tee's reports over to him, before confirming with him that he was the one responsible for merging the two worlds. Ex lets O continue on with his training, saying that he'll be waiting for him at the farthest edges of spacetime.

O tags along with Tee, Ringo, and the others as they travel to the Edge of Spacetime to confront Ex in Chapter 7. During the epilogue, O and Carbuncle are seen saying goodbye to each other, with Arle commenting on how the two of them are going to miss each other.

O appears during Chapter 8, where he shows up as Suketoudara's dance partner.

O is present at the beginning of Chapter 10, which starts out as a repeat of the Chapter 1's opening, but with Ex replacing Tee.

Puyo Puyo Tetris 2

O makes his first appearance at the beginning of Chapter 1, when he and Tee suddenly land in Suzuran, right in front of Ringo. Prior to this encounter in Chapter 2's Side Story, Tee was calling for O to send a routine report, just like in the first game, when Ex shows up to send them over to Ringo. After getting reacquainted with each other, O tags along with Tee and Ringo in order to track down the culprit behind the impending merge of the Puyo Puyo and Tetris worlds. Along the way, O ends up getting separated from the others, but ends up coming across Arle and Carbuncle, whom he immediately establishes a bond with.

O is involved in helping Marle regain her memories by having "a cute mascot battle" with Carbuncle in Chapter 6.

Unlike in Puyo Puyo Tetris, O's presence is downplayed, and primarily just responds alongside Tee.

Trivia

  • He is based on the O-shaped Tetrimino.
  • Because his AI is shared with Onion Pixie, O does not rotate his Puyo, even set AI to max level. However, he does rotate his Tetrominoes, likely because not rotating in Tetris is far more infeasible. Same apply to Draco Centauros.
  • Alternate Voice notes:
    • In Puyo Puyo Tetris, he has a soft and slow voice.
      • In the English version, he has a strong and fast voice in contrast to the Japanese version, sounding angry.
    • In Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, in both Japanese and English, he sounds monotonous and robot-like, similarly to Risukuma in Puyo Puyo!! 20th Anniversary and Ai in the original Puyo Puyo Tetris.
