Zombie is a zombie who likes metal music and pops out of the ground to scare others.

History

Madou Monogatari series

Zombie debuted as a random encounter in Madou Monogatari 123. In addition to standard Zombies and Mini Zombies, the PC98 and Game Gear versions of 2 contain female Zombies and the Game Gear version of 3 contains body builder Zombies. His attacks involve throwing his own rotting flesh, his head, and "Zombie karate chop".

Puyo Puyo (1992)

Zombie is the seventh Scenario mode opponent. As Arle complains about an awful smell, Zombie pops out of the ground and tells her that she won't get past him.

The English version features a similar cutscene: Silvana complains about an awful smell, and Zombie quips that she isn't "exactly a bed of roses" as he emerges from the ground.

Puyo Puyo Tsu

Zombie is the "extra" opponent for the Normal mode's third floor, and also appears in Practice mode. Arle compliments his guitar skills, and says Harpy is no match for him.

Trivia

• Zombie is one of a number of Compile-era Puyo Puyo characters to not appear in Puyo Puyo!! Quest.
• Zombie is mentioned by Arle in Fever 2, more specifically her diary. He's notably the only character to be mentioned to not appear in Quest.
• Zombie's AI in the Practice mode of Super Puyo Puyo Tsu was deemed too strong for beginner players by Compile. As a result, Super Puyo Puyo Tsu Remix has Practice mode Zombie use his Normal Mode AI, while his original Practice AI pattern was given to Fufufu.
