Rafisol, as she appears in Puyo Puyo Chronicles.
|First appearance||Puyo Puyo Chronicles|
Rafisol is a dark entity born from Ally's pendant and serves as the main antagonist of Puyo Puyo Chronicles. She shares Ally's likeness, but all of her colors are inverted from her counterpart. As Ally's pendant inverts love, Rafisol does not understand love. She is also a being of pure dark magic and doesn't really understand her existence.
Rafisol is very similar to Ally, but with shuffled and inverted colors and sharper hair.
Rafisol's personality changes throughout the game, and is one of the main points of her development. At first she's cold and only wishes to "take everything." She doesn't respond to the characters, except for two instances, the first is when Ally wonders if Rafisol has love, in which Rafisol denies it, the second is when they are about to battle her. After the battle, Rafisol shows desperation, she does this by attempting to take all of Ally's power, she doesn't want to disappear, she wants to continue to exist. But she can't take her love power. She still tries to anyway, which makes Ally realise that Rafisol does want to love After she's returned to the pendant, it's shown that Rafisol is happy to be residing in the pendant and being with Ally and that Ally may have taught Rafisol about love. Later, when talking with Carbuncle, she realises she can use her powers to help others, though how she helps isn't actually good, as she suggests taking over another world just so Carbuncle can have curry. She eventually has a puyo match with Carbuncle. Despite not knowing why Carbuncle wanted to play puyo with her, she realised that there doesn't have to be a reason for absolutely everything and she doesn't have a reason to decline Carbuncle's challenge. Afterwards, Rafisol actually tries to have a puyo battle that was fun and made her smile. Naturally, Ally volunteers to play against her. After the match, Rafisol claims it didn't work and quickly leaves. Ally wonders that maybe she didn't smile, but in her heart she had fun, and she smiled, in her heart. Rafisol had fun and enjoyed the battle, but she simply didn't know how to express herself, so she hid it and ran off. Soon after, Rafisol asks everyone why they are still with her, and why they would want to be with a "dark existence". This hints to self-loathing from Rafisol, she knows her existence is evil, but she hates it and doesn't think she deserves any form of company or happiness, she hides her happiness because she doesn't think she deserves it, however she doesn't leave the party because she wants their company and wants to feel the happiness. She could leave, but her emotions won't let her, she doesn't want to go to being alone and lonely, she wants to experience the happiness and love that everyone else has, and show that she can live a nice, happy life with everyone else.
Rafisol only appears in the Tower of Color. Throughout the Tower of Color, Ally is shown to be in some sort of pain, but Ally brushes it off and tells Arle that she's fine, this is hinted to be Rafisol beginning to break free of the pendant. Near the top, shortly after battling Lagnus, Rafisol speaks to the party, warning that soon she will "End Everything" once Arle's party reaches the summit of the tower, using all the magic gathered in the tower. She does not show herself, due to still being in the pendant, leaving the party confused as to where the voice is coming from. Once Arle and her party reaches the top of the Tower of Color, Ally stops and gasps in pain, making the entire party notice and wonder what's hurting her, Ally finally admits to being in pain and says it's from her pendant. A flash of white emits from the pendant and Rafisol breaks free from Ally's pendant. Amitie is the first to notice Rafisol and points her out to everyone else. After exposition from Ecolo, Arle and her party challenges Rafisol to a puyo battle, in which she loses. After the battle, Rafisol resists and begins to take control of Ally, attempting to drain all of Ally's power. However, with the help of Arle and the party, Ally breaks free of Rafisol's control and returns Rafisol to Ally's pendant. In the post-credits scene, we see Rafisol inside Ally's pendant, and it's implied Ally has managed to teach Rafisol about love.
