Runelord is the final boss of Madou Monogatari S and a great mage who was imprisoned by a legendary hero 200 years ago in a labyrinth of the city of Rana.

Madou Monogatari
In Madou Monogatari S and the novel New Madou Monogatari: Schezo and the Flowers of Evil, Runelord is a mage who was sealed away 200 years ago. He is in pursuit of a successor to the title of Dark Mage, who must be able to wield the Dark Sword and use the spell Areiado.
True Madou Monogatari
In the novel True Madou Monogatari Sidestory: The Golden Hero, Runelord is depicted as a formless spiritual existence that takes control of mages to absorb their magical abilities, usually through exploiting some of their trauma. Runelord's current form is that of a young man named Zeke, who became distraught when he lost his romantic partner.
Appearance
Runelord appears to be a young man with long, white hair, red eyes, pale skin and pointed ears. He wears a golden circlet around his head, a dark green robe, and a gray scarf is draped around his body.

- Schezo
- At the age of 14, Schezo went on a field trip to the city of Rana and encountered Runelord within his labyrinth. Although he resisted becoming the next Dark Mage at first, Schezo ends up absorbing Runelord's influence and inheriting the title of Dark Mage as well as the Dark Sword.
