First appearance | Puyo Puyo CD (the first game recognized on the internet) Puyo Puyo!! 20th Anniversary (the game which made me join the community) |
Latest appearance | Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 |
A Puyo fan and amateur translator who speak native Japanese. Did countless transcripts and translations of characters' chants for both mainline games and Puyo Puyo!! Quest, as well as flavor text translations for the latter (see here). Relatively new to the community. The first ever person who colorized alternate voice scripts (for reading purpose). Also a fan of Nintendo (especially Mario and Smash) and JoJo, and a train enthusiast. I also like YTPMVs/OtoMADs (and even some music tracks they are based on) a lot.
(To be honest, Party rule should return in mainline games in my opinion...)
Also, true form Marle for Puyo Quest!
Celerity is my friend since when I joined the wiki and a fellow supporter of Arle for Smash! We both have been worked many times on transcriptions and translations of the characters' chants in the series since then. We're not always confident with each other's language, so we also proofread transcript of our respective native language.
Some of the content in this page are inspired by other users' userpages:
- Celerity910 for fanmade chants
- Eudaemonics, Pitybreak, and Martin for bio infobox
- Pi for PPQ card-styled list of characters
- Martin (again) for PPQ translations list with card icons
Also, I gotta say, both Celerity's and Momochi's works motivated me to do transcripts/translations, even though I barely knew about English sayings when I was new to here.
Subpages
I'm just leaving my favorites here lmao
Honestly, I love everyone in the series, but here are some particular characters I like.
There are many, MANY favorite girls in this series :D
(Note: As with many of you guys, I like Marle's true form more than corrupted form, so I use her CPU icon from PPT2 until her true form gets released in Quest)
And here are our boys who I like too :)

- * - Only applies to Klug, Oshare Bones, Lidelle, Onion Pixie, Ocean Prince, Raffina, Hohow Bird, Frankensteins, Accord, Popoi, Sig, Lemres, Feli, Gogotte, Akuma and Strange Klug. For this reason, the sound test numbers after Repeater are shifted one by one. In Fever 2, the order goes back and forth because there are unused lines in someplaces.
- Number 12 in Puyo Puyo! 15th Anniversary is an unused line.

- * - The sound test numbers in Puyo Puyo 7 are completely separated with normal, Mega Puyo Rush and Mini Puyo Fever. In Mega Puyo Rush and Mini Puyo Fever voice test, Up to 10 is the same chain voice as normal, 11 is the same dialogue as Fever rush voice at normal time, and numbers 12 to 21 are numbers (only up to "7" is used in the game, but there's up to "10" in the sound test), 22 and 23 are Chain A and B voices.
Other notes
- Number 20 - 39 of Puyo Puyo!! 20th Anniversary, 20 - 26 of Puyo Puyo Chronicle, 1 - 20 of Puyo Puyo Champions are counting numbers. (Used for Mega Puyo Rush, Mini Puyo Fever and Pair Puyo Puyo in 20th and Chronicle).
- Number 42 - 49 of Puyo Puyo!! are also used for Pair Puyo Puyo. 46 is different depending on the character ("Yahoo!" for most characters, "Hahahahaha!" for Schezo and Satan, "Hee-hee" for Lidelle, "Wow..." for Sig and Risukuma, etc.). All other voices are "42: えいっ (Hah!) /43: えーいっ (Hi-yah!) / 44: いっけー (Go go!) / 45: それぇ (Here!) / 47: ペア (Pair...) / 48: 連鎖 (Chain) / 49: アタック (Attack)" in common to all characters (except Carbuncle, Donguri Gaeru and Onion Pixie).
- Number 54 or over in 20th are special Pair victory quotes, and for the OPP characters' cases, hidden spells in OPP, Tsu and Sun rules afterwards. OPP characters' hidden spells are also used in Puyo Puyo Chronicle, which are number 36 or over.
- Although System startup voice clips existed since 20th, they were not included in Sound Test until Tetris 2. Additionally, online greetings in Tetris 2 do have Alternate voice counterparts, but they are not in Sound Test for unknown reasons.

What if characters
Inspired by Celerity's similar projects, I made a few fanmade chants, as well as some character stat concepts. Archive for obsoleted concepts that became real can be found here.
Harpy dropset decloning
Character type: "Reverses Fever!" (Fever) / "Throws Garbage!" (Party)
Is it too simple for these character types? Maybe not, cause Suketoudara and Dapper Bones using simple dropset as "Use small chains!" type, and Arle only contains I-pieces AND "Throws Garbage!" type. This dropset is based on Suketoudara's.

Arle and Satan duo? (Player Chain only)
Sounds more like a Puyo VS mod rather than normal Puyo games, but I already imagined something like this. Slightly inspired by Madou Sugoroku. Usages in blue refers to Arle and green refers to Satan.

What if? English voices suguessions
Here, I will suggest the English voice cast of the characters who do not have one (mainly from Quest). Had to look up on YouTube and Behind The Voice Actors a lot for comparable voice impressions.
Character | Voice Actor | Description |
---|---|---|
Floré | Michelle Ruff | Voice tone comparable to: Luna (Sailor Moon; Viz Media dub) |
Roco | Stephanie Sheh | Voice tone comparable to: Yui Hirasawa (K-ON!) |
Lux | Joe J. Thomas | |
Abyss | Matthew Mercer | |
Edgar | Max Mittelman | |
Patri | Bryce Papenbrook | Voice tone comparable to: Silver the Hedgehog (Sonic series) |
Maurice | Zeno Robinson | |
Lisette | Cherami Leigh | Voice tone comparable to: Makoto Niijima (Persona 5) |
Nina | Eden Riegel | |
Albert | Zach Aguilar | Voice tone comparable to: Koichi Hirose (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable) |
Richard | Ezra Weisz | Voice tone comparable to: Pannacotta Fugo (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind) |
Matthew | Wendee Lee | As in the original Japanese voice, I wanted Matthew's voice to be somewhat feminine, so let's say it would be mixture between Jay's and Elle's voice. |
Miriam | Robbie Daymond | Voice tone comparable to: Goro Akechi (Persona 5) |
Sullivan | Megan Taylor Harvey | Same as Matthew, except with corrupted and true Marle. |
Mars | Yuri Lowenthal | Voice tone comparable to: Marth (Fire Emblem Fates / Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. onward) |
Yuri | Xander Mobus | |
Emilia | Faye Mata | Voice tone comparable to: Aqua (Konosuba) |
