Active (アクティブ, Akutibu) is a mode that appears in Puyo Puyo!! 20th Anniversary, Puyo Puyo Chronicle, and Puyo Puyo Puzzle Pop.
Gameplay
Gameplay uses identical rules to Tsu rules, with an optional Quick Drop. However how chains behave functions differently. Normally during a chain the player loses all control until the chain is complete. But in Active mode players can still control their pieces during the middle of a chain animation, making it possible to extend chains that would otherwise be impossible. Anything added on top of a chain will count towards the chain length, with a roughly 1 second frame window to extend a chain.
