Blocks (ブロック, Burokku) is a gameplay mode that appears in Puyo Puyo!! 20th Anniversary, Puyo Puyo Chronicle and Puyo Puyo Puzzle Pop.
Gameplay
The general mechanics are based on Tsu rules with the option to have Quick Drop. However the board is filled with blocks that cannot be cleared by any means. Each match randomly generates these blocks into various patterns, for example one match may begin with half the board blocked off but another one may begin with the blocks arranged to be stairs. This means that players are constantly changing their strategy in order to compensate for the changing block patterns.
