Unusual Ecolo (translated as Alter Ecolo in Puyo Puyo Champions) is the human-like alternate form of Ecolo. He can be unlocked by buying Popoi's advice multiple times. He has the same dropset and power as Ecolo, but with different animations and voice clips.

Trivia

• This form seems to be referenced in Puyo Puyo Drama CD Volume 3 in the track "The Valentine's Day That Overcame Space-Time". Ecolo promises to find a body for himself in order to shake Ringo's hand and he says that he might look a bit "unusual" when that time finally comes.
• He makes a cameo appearance in the Puyo Puyo!! Quest story Tanabata★Emergency under the alias Ekoguchi Tabito (江古口たびと). This card was eventually made obtainable under the name Transfer Student Unusual Ecolo.
  • Tabito (たびと) is an alternate reading of 旅人 (Tabibito), which is a "wanderer" or a "traveler" and part of Ecolo's title as the Wanderer of Worlds (時空の旅人, Jikū no tabibito).
