This is a list that contains instances of the Puyo Puyo series making cameo appearances in other games and media. This page does not feature references.

Video Games

Sega Superstars

Puyo Pop Fever is included as one of the mini games in the collection. The player uses their body to guide the different Puyo colors into the correct basket, while avoiding bombs.

Phantasy Star Series

Puyo Mags appear throughout the series, starting with Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst. They can be obtained by using a Mag Cell called "Amitie's Memo" on a Chu Chu Mag. Their appearnce is based on their design from Puyo Puyo Fever. Since Mags can take on a variety of colors, it is possible to obtain a Puyo Mag that is not one of the five normal Puyo colors. Puyo Mags return in Phantasy Star Zero, now with their Puyo Puyo! 15th Anniversary design.

In Phantasy Star Online 2, Puyo Mags return as a special final evolution for any Mag, but can only take on one of four colors: Green, Red, Blue, or Purple. Each color is designed after that Puyo's specific design.

From June 10, 2020 to July 14, 2020, various Puyo Puyo-themed rewards could be obtained from the Sega Legacy ARKS Cash scratch drawing. Rewards include an Arle Replica costume, a Red Puyo Hat accessory, a Carbuncle Pouch accessory, and furnishings based on the Puyos.

Sega Superstars Tennis

Puyo Pop Fever is included as an unlockable minigame by playing through Superstar mode.

Sega Splash! Golf

Carbuncle and the Puyos appear as selectable caddies in the game.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed

In the Japanese release of the game, the pufferfish item is replaced with a Garbage Puyo, which makes the garbage drop sound when activated.

Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Series

A costume of Arle can be unlocked for Rin in Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F.

In Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai 2 and its expansion Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX, a mini-game named Puyo Puyo 39! is available from the start. Completing it as Miku and KAITO will unlock outfits for them, themed around Arle and the Dark Prince.

In Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X, Amitie's Red Puyo Hat (based on its design from Puyo Puyo Fever) and Ringo's Green Puyo Clip appear as unlockable accessories for Miku to wear.

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life / Judgement (PS4)

The Club SEGA arcade at Nakamichi Street contains a playable Puyo Puyo arcade game, which is a heavily stripped-down version of Puyo Puyo Tetris, minus the Tetris elements.

Sonic Mania

Chemical Plant Act 2's boss is a round of Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. The player can unlock the ability to play a stripped-down versus mode, based on the boss by collecting 21 medals from the Blue Spheres minigame. The music that plays in either scenario is a remix of FINAL OF PUYO PUYO / 2-Player Vs.

Sonic Forces

Amitie's Red Puyo Hat can be obtained as a headpiece for the custom avatar character as a pre-order bonus, alongside outfits themed around other SEGA characters.

Sonic Colors: Ultimate

The Yellow, Purple, Red, Green, and Blue Puyos appear as user icons.

Samba de Amigo: Party Central

As part of the Digital Deluxe edition, a Puyo Puyo-themed costume can be obtained for Amigo, which includes a set of Puyo Puyo maracas.

Mobile Games

Sonic Runners

A collaboration with Puyo Puyo!! Quest happened from June 10, 2015 to June 17, 2015. This event contains a costume for Amy that gives her an Amitie costume called "Amitie-Style Amy". Carbuncle, Suketoudara, and a purple Paprisu appear as buddies as well. In addition, an event episode titled "Puyo Puyo's Falling Sky Road" could be played, along with a special stage of the same name.

Ekimemo! / Station Memories

From December 18, 2017 to January 9, 2018, Arle, Amitie, and Ringo were added as characters that could be obtained, alongside 30 different costumes for the various characters to wear. The event returned from December 19, 2020 to January 18, 2021.

Pashamon

A collaboration with Puyo Puyo!! Quest happened from January 4, 2018, to February 8, 2018. This event included Arle, Amitie, Ringo, and Sig as cameos, along with Carbuncle and the Puyos.

Kotodaman

Beginning on July 19, 2018 during the first "Sega All-Stars" event, Puyo Puyo characters were added to the game, starting with Arle and the Dark Prince. Witch would be added in the second "Sega All-Stars" event on May 23, 2019. A Puyo Puyo-specific collaboration event would be held from October 2, 2019 to October 16, 2019. This event added several more characters, specifically Amitie, Ringo, Schezo, Sig, Draco Centauros, Rulue, Raffina, Suketoudara & Skeleton T, Possessed Klug, and the Puyos. Players could also obtain a "Puyo Puyo Yaki" item.

Idola: Phantasy Star Saga

A Soul Symbol of Puyo Puyo eSports could be obtained during a Japanese-exclusive event.

Chain Chronicle 3

From September 19, 2019 to October 3, 2019, Arle, Sig, Amitie, Witch, and Ringo were added as playable characters, alongside a Puyo Puyo-themed storyline.

Power Pros Mobile

Following its collaboration in Puyo Puyo!! Quest, Arle, Amitie, and the Dark Prince were added to Power Pros Mobile as playable characters on March 3, 2020 durring the "Puyo Quest Stadium" event. During the second collaboration in 2023, Draco Centauros and Schezo were added as well.

Kemono Friends 3

From June 17, 2021 to June 30, 2021, Draco Centauros and Witch could be obtained as Friends/Units during the Puyo Puyo event. In addition, the player can obtain Puyo-themed rewards, including an Arle costume for the character Dhole. A Puyo Puyo-themed event story was also available.

Notably, Draco and Witch both contain a special costume that references a character alt. from Puyo Puyo!! Quest. Draco's "Personal Fashion" costume is based on Charmy Draco, while Witch's costume is based on Kitty Witch.

M Hold'em

From September 13, 2021 to September 26, 2021, Arle and Schezo could be obtained as playable characters. The event returned from February 21, 2022, to March 13, 2022, and added Amitie, Sig, Witch, and Ringo. Stamps based on each character and a set of Puyo Puyo playing cards were available during the duration of the events.

Yo-kai Watch: Wibble Wobble

From March 15, 2022 to March 31, 2022, Arle, Carbuncle, Dark Prince, Schezo, Suketoudara, Draco Centauros, Witch, and Amitie could be obtained as playable characters, each with their own Puni's. Notably, Arle's SS form is based on her classic design, with her ZZZ form being her modern apperance. The Dark Prince can also be upgraded into the Masked Prince. Puyos can also show up on the playfield during the event.

404 GAME RE:SET

Starting on September 13, 2023, a cast themed after the original Puyo Puyo arcade game was added. The design of the Anode cast is based on Arle, while the Cathode cast is based on Suketoudara. Carbuncle and the Puyos appear as collectible figurines, along with a collection room themed around the original arcade game.

Animation

Hi-sCool! SeHa Girls

Episode 5 is titled "Puyo + Puyo + Puyo + Puyo = 0". It focuses on Dreamcast, Sega Saturn, and Mega Drive being tasked with coming up with video game ideas that feature Puyo Puyo.
