Puyo Puyo!! Quest Arcade, (ぷよぷよ!!クエスト アーケード Puyopuyo!! kuesuto aakeedo), not to be confused with Puyo Puyo!! Quest, was an arcade game featuring puzzle RPG elements and a character card system. The game was free to play, only requiring payment for optional actions such as refilling stamina and participating in the gacha system. The game required SEGA's Aime card (or the now-equivalent BanaPassport card from Bandai Namco Games) to store and recall gameplay status.
The service of Puyo Puyo!! Quest Arcade has ended, and was announced to terminate after March 31, 2017, with the removal of cabinets varying in time by shop.[1]
Gameplay
Puyo Puyo!! Quest Arcade was described as a "real-time cooperative puzzle RPG".[2] Puyo battles were played using the touch panel on the arcade cabinet. Quests could include up to 4 different players, and play was possible with country-wide (online play) and in-store (local play) teammates. Quests varied in type, including "story quests", "subquests", "event quests", and "emergency quests". Similar to Puyo Puyo!! Quest, your team (termed "party") could be customized and rearranged. Additionally, you could also power up your cards, and transform them to higher rarities.
