Puyo Puyo 39 (ぷよぷよ39, Puyo Puyo 39) is a minigame that appears in Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai 2 and its updated rerelease Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX. It's a stripped down version of Puyo Puyo with a Vocaloid theme.
Overview
This minigame is based on Puyo Puyo Tsu gameplay. All Clear, double rotation, Margin Time, and offsetting are all present, along with all other basic Puyo Puyo controls. However multipliers are different, being much stronger and irregular then normally. Additionally, there is only one set AI, all others being based on the difficulty and when the character is fought. The only character with a preset AI, MEIKO, has an AI based on Suketoudara's. Which opponents you face is based on the player's current Vocaloid partner, with each of the six playable characters having their own animations and voice clips, but no unique properties such as dropsets.
Similar to Puyo Puyo! 15th Anniversary and Puyo Puyo!! 20th Anniversary, every character in single player has their own theme when battled, based on one of the songs from the Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX soundtrack. However in multiplayer mode players can choose any of the songs they have unlocked. Players can also optionally change the appearance of their Puyo, one based on the arcade games Puyo Puyo and Puyo Puyo Tsu and other based on the "Aqua" skin in more recent SEGA games.
Playing through this mode will unlock costumes based on Arle and Satan, as well as 5 different stamps.

Trivia
- The "39" is a reference to the recurring goroawase number "39" in various Vocaloid products. When put together, they make the pun "Miku" (みく).
- If Miku wears the costume based on Arle, her animations are changed to reference Arle's animations in Puyo Puyo!! 20th Anniversary. She will also shout out the same spells, with the exception of "Bayoen!" being replaced with "Dayo!"
- Rin and Len's final chain animation is a reference to the famous scene in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders where main antagonist DIO tries to crush Jotaro with a steamroller. The description for the steamroller makes the connection more obvious.
- All references to Satan are changed to Dark Prince in regions outside of Japan, being consistent with past name changes.
