This guide will help you with properly naming things that may go by more than one name.

Terminology

Puyo

The word Puyo, as of the Puyo Puyo! 15th Anniversary translation, is considered a proper noun and therefore should be capitalized as such. Specific types of Puyo such as Garbage Puyo, Hard Puyo, and Point Puyo must be also written as a proper noun with correct capitalization.

The plural form of the word Puyo is Puyo. As of the English localization of Puyo Puyo Tetris, the plural form Puyos is also considered acceptable.

Garbage

"Junk" Puyo are referred to as Nuisance Puyo (nuisance for short), or as of the English localization of Puyo Puyo Tetris, Garbage Puyo. As such, do not use ojyama, filler, and the like. The words nuisance and garbage are only to be capitalized as a proper noun when used with the word Puyo. Otherwise, write them using lowercase letters

Field

You play on a game field. You should not use board when referring to a field.

Game titles

Game titles must be italicized. Avoid abbreviations as much as possible, especially within pages. The list below shows how the titles should be written throughout the wiki:
