PuyoNexus:Code of Conduct

From Puyo Nexus Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

Hello, and welcome to the Puyo Nexus Wiki!

This page contains wiki rules and information about expected user conduct. You can find basic information here on wiki editing. It's recommended that you also refer to the Media Wiki handbook if you have any questions. The wiki staff, members of the English Puyo Puyo Community Discord Server, and members of Puyo Wiki Central are also here to help if you have any questions.

User Conduct

  1. Please use respectful language and be inclusive in your conduct on the wiki.
  2. Please do not post sexually explicit text or images, or have sexually explicit text or images on your userpage.
    1. Please do not create pages with obscene or sexually explicit content.
    2. Please do not refer to characters using sexually explicit, crude, or derogatory language on their pages or in talkpages, even as a joke.
  3. Please do not use abusive, crude, derogatory, or profane language.
  4. We do not tolerate spam or vandalism. Any changes of this nature will be reverted and result in an immediate ban.
  5. Please assume good faith when editing other people's contributions.
  6. Do not engage in edit wars.
  7. Please do not use content talkpages for roleplay or off-topic discussion.
    1. Note: You may use your user talkpages for some degree of communication unrelated to the wiki.
  8. Please do not upload fanart or art that you are not completely sure is official.
    1. This rule also applies to edited work such as typeset comics or manga as the translation is the translator's intellectual property.
  9. All edits will be tied to your account unless it is legally necessary for the moderation team to omit entries. All of your contributions to the wiki can be easily viewed on your corresponding Special:Contributions page.
  10. Please do not move or make drastic changes to any pages, templates, or other code on the wiki without consulting other moderators or wiki editors beforehand!
  11. Do not link to piracy sites anywhere on the wiki.

Piracy and ROMhacks

  • Please do not promote piracy or link to sites that host ROMs on this wiki. This includes filesharing services such as Google Drive, MediaFire, MEGA, or Baidu.
  • Linking to ROMhacks such as those hosted on ROMhacking.net is permitted.
    • ROMhacks posted to other sites, such as a hacker's personal webpage, must be vetted by wiki staff to ensure that they do not contain any code from the original game.
  • Book and manual scans should be uploaded to archive.org. The same rules about piracy sites and filesharing services pertaining to ROMs applies to books as well.

Unofficial Content

  • As of February 2024, Puyo Nexus is no longer accepting new articles on fanmade games. Existing articles will remain for archival purposes.
  • Please note that if you have a fangame you want preserved somewhere on the wiki, you can still use your userpage to document information about it as long as it does not break our code of conduct.

Language & Grammar

More information about terminology specific to the games can be found on the Terminology page. Please note that these apply to wiki edits only and changes should not be made to the grammar, spelling, or word choice of translations that do not originate from Puyo Nexus. More information about translation-specific policies can be found on the Translations page.

  1. Please use neutral and unbiased language and do not insert your personal interpretations, thoughts, or opinions when editing pages. Having someone look over your edits before publishing is highly recommended.
  2. Speculation on the wiki is highly discouraged. Please only add facts that you know to be true.
  3. There is no penalty for making grammatical or spelling errors on the wiki, but just be aware that others may revise your edits without any warning. Here are some of the grammatical style guidelines for the wiki:
    1. The wiki largely uses American English, but there is no penalty if you use alternate spellings.
    2. Singular they is used on the wiki for genderless characters and characters with unknown genders unless stated otherwise.
    3. When romanizing Japanese, we adhere to the modified Hepburn romanization system.
    4. The possessive form of names ending in "S" such as Ess, Lemres, or Squares should only take an apostrophe rather than an apostrophe and an extra "S". The possessive forms of the names listed would thus be Ess', Lemres', and Squares'.
    5. The plural of Puyo should be Puyos to be consistent Puyo Puyo Tetris 1 and Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 localizations, but Puyo as plural form is also acceptable.
    6. "Junk Puyo" can be written as either Nuisance Puyo or Garbage Puyo, the latter is more encouraged as it is consistent with Puyo Puyo Tetris 1 and Puyo Puyo Tetris 2's English localizations.
    7. Please italicize titles of games and novels and refrain from abbreviating titles, as tempting as that may be. The Help:Terminology guide has more information regarding this rule.
  4. As this franchise's content is mostly in Japanese, some character names are still inconsistent across namespaces. Here are some guidelines:
    1. Use localized names when possible.
    2. If a character's unlocalized name is used on a page, please conform to that until the page is updated, or ask a moderator/other users if you can update it.

Wiki Staff

If you would like to request automoderation or if there is another issue you need resolved, you can get in touch with the following staff members:

Moderation

  • This wiki is not currently regularly patrolled or moderated outside of new pages and very large edits.
  • All edits currently need to be manually approved if you are not an automoderated user. Automoderation status can be requested on a staff member's talkpage, through the English Puyo Puyo Community's #puyopuyolore channel, or through Puyo Wiki Central.
