The Weatherkids (テンキッズ) are a series of 5 characters introduced in Puyo Puyo!! Quest. A 6th character associated with the series, the mysterious mentor Amanone, was introduced later as part of the game's 25 Million Downloads Campaign. They are a group of young celestial beings who live in Weather Village (天気村), located in the skies above Pwurp Island. Here, they are apprenticing in the creation of the weather effects they specialize in, which are used to control Pwurp Island's weather from above. Though they are still apprentices, they have already been tasked with creating the weather on certain days. The Weatherkids are friends, and will sometimes cooperate to create certain weather combinations. They are overseen by the elders of Weather Village. The Village exists near where the Heavenly Knights and Constellations reside, and its residents are unable to read written language from the surface world, instead having their own script. The original 5 Weatherkids all carry yellow pouches with them.
Their introduction in Puyo Puyo!! Quest coincided with the game's introduction of Field Effects, with the first 5 introduced aligning with the 5 Weatherkids and being available through their Active Skills. These 5 Effects would later go on to be available through other cards, such as the Spirit series.
The series name in Japanese, pronounced "Tenkizzu", is a pun combining the words "Tenki" (天気), meaning "weather" in Japanese, and "kids" (キッズ).

Amanone is mysterious and powerful being serving as a mentor of sorts to the Weatherkids, though he rarely lets himself be seen, instead choosing to quietly observe his pupils. This is due in part to his sleepy and lazy disposition, as he is able to nap for days on end, which he often does. He is able to observe others remotely and from incredibly far away. He has a deadpan and free-spirited personality. He is an extremely talented weathermaker and is able to summon any weather condition at will. Among the weather he can create is snowstorms, supercells, perfect beach days, and neverending days or nights. He's also able to use great winds to transport people over long distances. He isn't reserved in utilizing his weather mastery, which often leads to unfavorable situations when he fulfills requests. This, coupled with his lack of knowledge on Earthly traditions, can lead him to be naive. While he is hands-off with the Weatherkids and thinks them to be self-indulgent on occasion, he recognizes their talent and is receptive to them, stating that he counts on them. However, he often tries to cut corners in his duties so that he can slack off, including offloading work onto the Weatherkids. He is said to rarely use his full power. He often philosophically muses.
Trivia
- His Active Skill in Puyo Puyo!! Quest removes any active Field Effect when used.
- He's prone to getting excited in certain situations, such as enjoying a summer vacation or getting to be on TV. Though his deadpan disposition remains, it can cause him to lose sleep.
- Amanone is said to be an incredibly skilled swordsman.
- The designs on Summery Skies Amanone's suitcase are in reference to the weather conditions that the other 5 Weatherkids are able to create.
