Paprisus are a species of mischievous creatures introduced in Puyo Puyo!! Quest that live on Pwurp Island. As their name suggests, they are squirrel-like creatures that always wear colored headgear shaped after Paprikas, of which are apparently well made. There are 5 color variants; Red, blue, green, yellow, and purple. Most Paprisus are very prideful of their color, and will defend their color Paprisus as the most superior ones. They also have rivalries with Paprisus of other colors, though some are shown to be friends with differently-colored Paprisus. In Puyo Puyo!! Quest, they are commonly used as enemies during Quests. They recieve an alternate costume for almost every collaboration in the game. They have become a de facto mascot for Puyo Puyo!! Quest, with the red variants appearing the most frequently.

A Red Paprisu, simply titled Paprisu, appears as a hidden playable character in Puyo Puyo Champions' DLC. It can be selected by inputting a button combination on the character select screen that varies depending on the platform.

In Puyo Puyo!! Quest, Paprisus are fully capable of speech and one even gets offended at the notion that they aren't. Despite this, the Paprisu in Puyo Puyo Champions only communicates by going "Papu".
Paprisus have the most alternate costumes in Puyo Puyo!! Quest by far, even surpassing popular mainline characters like Arle.
- This is due to the frequency of collaborations in the game, as well as the tendency for all 5 Paprisus to recieve an alternate costume for each collab.
Paprisu is the only character in Puyo Puyo Champions originally from Puyo Puyo!! Quest to have a completely original dropset.
Paprisu is the only character from Puyo Puyo!! Quest be voiced in a Puyo Puyo game, but not in Puyo Puyo!! Quest itself.
Although they are likely a different species, Veggie Thieves bear a notably similar appearance to Paprisus.
Due to his dialogue and alternate costumes, the Heavenly Knight Mars is often associated with Paprisu.
Sparkrisu, Mysterisu, and Tambourisu were the winners of a special Paprisu design contest.^[1]
