The Fairy Tales (童話) are a series of 5 characters introduced in Puyo Puyo!! Quest. While they all live radically different lives, they are all close friends and often spend time together. As the name suggests, all 5 are based off of separate fairy tales.

Rebecca is a young girl whose job is making deliveries for her grandmother, though what exactly she delivers is a mystery. Due to her insatiable curiosity, she often finds herself getting lost or distracted from her work. She has no tolerance for people who get in the way of her deliveries, and seems to take pleasure in punishing people she deems up to no good. She has an outgoing and incredibly mischevious personality, and likes to pull pranks. She's prone to fits of laughter. Her grandmother will sometimes arrange for her to make deliveries for other people on Pwurp Island.

Grace is an ice queen that lives in a castle on a snowy mountain. She lived all by herself for a long time, so she can come across as emotionless and uninterested. However, she also has an amenable side to her, and will sometimes open up to others. Living her life in solitude has led to her being oblivious to many aspects of the outside world, such as the celebration of holidays and the need humans have for warmth. She is curious about the world around her, and will sometimes seek out new experiences. Her body emits cold air, making it difficult to be around her. She has a mastery over ice magic, and has a tendency to try and solve problems by summoning snowstorms.

  • She feels at ease when listening to human music.
  • One of [★6] Grace's monologue lines suggests she has an interest in visiting a tropical beach. This wish would be realized almost 8 years later, when Oceanfront Grace would debut during Puyo Puyo!! Quest's Summer 2022 campaign.

Alex is a traveling warrior that wields the holy sword Archrage (アークレイジ), which she inherited from the spirit of a lake. Leadership comes naturally to her, and she has a headstrong and confident personality. Her secret identity is the royal princess of a distant land, and she adventures to foreign places for the sake of her kingdom. While she adventures primarily to broaden her knowledge of the world, she's also in search of her own destiny. Her father was initially hesitant to let her journey out of concern, but eventually let her at the last moment. Befitting of her royal status, she is very reliable and will fulfill any responsibility without fail, and she is generous enough to make sacrifices for others. She exudes an air of nobility that can sometimes make it hard for her to conceal her identity. She tends to think about her homeland a lot.

She appears as a playable character in Puyo Puyo Champions.

Chiquita Chiquita ver. Holy Night Full-bloom Chiquita Outlander Fairy Tale Chiquita

Chiquita is a young traveler who aims to become a legendary knight alongside her steed, a donkey named Pablo (パブロ). She journeys to correct the evils of the world, but often misunderstands situations based on the many stories she's read. She is fearless in her confrontations of any opponent, but will often rush in without properly assessing the danger of a situation. She is outgoing and cheerful, but tends to be extremely clumsy. While she is somewhat childish, she wishes to be seen by others as an adult. Her suit of armor is a precious heirloom from her great-grandfather, though as such, it's a little too big on her. She loves her donkey Pablo, and says that he is brave and clever.

  • Chiquita is based off of Don Quixote.
    • She will sometimes refer to herself as Don Chiquita (ドン・チキータ).
  • Pablo's text bubbles in Puyo Puyo!! Quest are also colored purple.

Relationships

Rebecca and Outlander Fairy Tale Rebecca
Outlander Rebecca, due to her timid nature, is slightly intimidated by Rebecca's carefree personality, but ultimately wants to follow her example and be more confident with her own deliveries. She feels inferior to Pwurp Island's Rebecca, though, and on one occasion has a nervous breakdown due to not being able to make a delivery as fast as her.
Grace and Outlander Fairy Tale Grace
While their personalities are quite different, they both have a shared curiosity in humans, and seem to enjoy each other's company. While Grace expresses her enjoyment of the day they spent together, she conveys a slight level of distrust towards her Outlander counterpart, not knowing what her motives are.
Wynn and Outlander Fairy Tale Wynn
The two have polar opposite personalities, and Outlander Wynn has stated that she finds her Pwurp counterpart to be noisy and somewhat annoying. However, both have an interest in each other, and Wynn believes that her Outlander self wants to be more honest with her feelings.
Alex and Outlander Fairy Tale Alex
While their first meeting is far from amicable due to Alex being suspicious about the Outlanders' intents, she and Outlander Alex are still able to share a friendly Puyo match together. Outlander Alex is still comfortable enough to tease Alex about taking over Pwurp Island, even though she has no intention of doing so.
Alex and Richard
Alex and Richard are first shown conversing about the Outlanders' arrivals in Pwurp Island. While the extent of their relationship isn't known, it's implied that they are allies.
Chiquita and Outlander Fairy Tale Chiquita
Outlander Chiquita first finds her Pwurp counterpart annoying, initially seeing her as an unskilled child pretending to be a knight. However, Chiquita begins to admire Outlander Chiquita after recognizing her great skill. Secretly feeling honored by this, Outlander Chiquita opens up to her, and the two knights spend several hours training together.
