Puyo Puyo Global Ranking Series
The Puyo Puyo Global Ranking Series is a series of official and community tournaments with the purpose of promoting international competitive play of Puyo Puyo.
First announced by Sega in October 2024 under the name Puyo Puyo GLOBAL RANKING SERIES, winners would receive an all expenses paid trip to Japan to participate in the Puyo Puyo Grand Prix Final, with an official uniform and a cash prize.[1]
On June 13th 2025, Sega announced the upcoming tournament series Puyo Puyo Global Ranking Series 2025.[2] This series has a different tournament structure consisting of four Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 tournaments by Sega, four Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 tournaments by Ascension, and various community tournaments on either Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 or Puyo Puyo Champions.
This series is notable for having tournament outreach outside of Japan, as well as the first set of Puyo-only tournaments in Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 by Sega.
