The Djinn (魔人) are a series of 6 characters introduced in Puyo Puyo!! Quest. The 6th member, Dinnorah, was released later as part of the game's 2024 Puyo-Out/Puyo-In campaign. They are centuries-old demons that have been sealed within magical jewelry a very long time ago. They have a certain level of autonomy and can move around as they please, but whether they can unleash their true power is reliant on whether they are serving a Master. As such, they are constantly traveling through Pwurp Island in search of people whose wishes they can help grant. They also have the ability to retreat inside of their magic jewelry; Rubbing it in this state will cause them to emerge.

Khan, the Djinni of Dignity, is a demon sealed within a magical ruby ring that he wears. He is a man of few words and often makes profound statements, adding to his somewhat intimidating appearance. In reality, he is simply shy and lacks confidence in his words. He isn't afraid of emotional connection, but not many people have ever tried to get close to him. The other djinn admire him for his power. He seems to have reservations in revealing his true face.
Trivia
- Khan often refers to strangers as "fiend" (キサマ).

Ayn, the Djinni of Compassion, is a demon sealed within the magical sapphire earrings that she wears. She has an extremely gentle and caring personality, and is open to doing anything requested of her. Due to her undying willingness to help her Masters and allieviate any of their burdens, many prior owners of the sapphire have been corrupted. Through her hundreds of years, no one has ever seen her angry.
Trivia
- Despite characters referring to Ayn's sapphire as a single object, Ayn wears two identical sapphire earrings. It is unclear whether Ayn is sealed in only one of the sapphires or both.

Hursh, the Djinni of Happiness, is a demon sealed within the magical emerald bracelets that he wears. He is obsessed with the concept of happiness, and makes it his mission to bring happiness to his Masters. However, he actually has no clue what happiness really means, and thus doesn't really know what he's doing. He tends to be spontaneous in his efforts to make his owner happy and often doesn't think through his actions before making them, attempting strange and often nonsensical things to achieve happiness in his Masters. His own joy and self-confidence are inspiring to those around him.
Trivia
- He seems to associate happiness with fitness and good health, and thus has an obsession with making his Masters weightlift.
- Hursh has had over 1,000 owners. It is likely that the other djinn have had a similar number.
- Hursh wears two identical emerald bracelets. It is unclear whether Hursh is sealed in only one of the bracelets or both.

Nur, the Djinni of Innocence, is a demon sealed within the magical topaz necklace that he wears. Ironically, despite having incredible magic powers, he refuses to use magic to help his Masters achieve their wishes, believing you can't rely on magic for everything. Still, he's diligent in guiding his owners to achieving their goals all on their own. He isn't above using magic, but only when he deems it necessary. He likes to believe that he's helping his owners understand the value of hard work. He is described as having a bit of a common sense of humor.
Trivia
- While the true capacities of his magic are unknown, it's implied that he can use fire magic.

Sultana, the Djinni of Nobility, is a demon sealed within the magic amethyst that she bears on her forehead. Her commanding and noble aura has caused countless prior Masters to obey her out of respect, but this leaves her feeling that she's unable to show her true self to others. As such, she has an enthusiastic personality and a dignified, but somewhat awkward way of speaking. She struggles to keep up her act and sometimes lets her façade slip. Ironically, these slips can make her seem secretive, which further adds to her aura of nobility.
She appears as a playable character in Puyo Puyo Champions.
Trivia
- All 5 of the original Djinn have similar gemstones on their forehead. However, Sultana is the only one who is actually sealed within hers.

Dinnorah is an extremely powerful demon sealed within the magic diamond embedded into her sword. Her overwhelming power has caused prior Masters to become corrupt and exploit her abilities to become embroiled in conflict. Believing that there was no one who could properly use her power, for centuries she had kept herself sealed away. Her resurgence is said to be a miracle. Perhaps due to her mysterious past, she appears apathetic as to what her powers are used for. This extends to her past relationships, as she does not seem to care whether she is a friend or a foe to the other Djinn, of whom were her allies in centuries past. This concept excites both her and the other Djinn. In the present day, she chooses her Masters as well as what wishes to grant according to her own whims. It's shown that she's good at deducing peoples' troubles and true natures.
Trivia
- Her sword has the ability to soar across the sky at high speeds.
- She is the only Djinni to not have an official title.
Relationships
- Khan and Sultana
- Sultana feels that Khan, due to his kindness, is one of the only people who would never misconstrue her. Sultana is willing to step in for Khan when he misspeaks, but this makes him feel guilty.
- Ayn and Sultana
- Ayn expresses a desire to help Sultana learn how to speak in the way that she wishes to, implying that she knows Sultana is faking her speech. They're still shown to be friends, so it's doubtful Ayn cares very much about it.
- Khan and Outlander Djinni Khan
- Outlander Khan, due to his arrogance, has an interest in "showing up" the Khan of Pwurp Island. Outlander Khan states he has no intentions of becoming friends with Khan or any of the other Djinn. Khan, however, seems more amicable to his counterpart.
- Ayn and Outlander Djinni Ayn
- Ayn and Outlander Ayn immediately recognize that the other is a compassionate person, and butt heads to try and help each other with their problems, neither wanting to give in to the other's offered assistance. Regardless, the two are friendly with one another. Initially, they didn't even recognize that the other was their doppelgänger.
- Hursh and Outlander Djinni Hursh
- Outlander Hursh is at first confused by Hursh's methods, but ultimately finds him entertaining and laughs, much to Hursh's satisfaction.
- Nur and Outlander Djinni Nur
- While their interaction is limited, the two have no desire to fight each other upon first meeting.
- Sultana and Outlander Djinni Sultana
- Due to not meeting on the best terms, there is some animosity towards Sultana and her doppelgänger. Outlander Sultana expresses great annoyance at what she percieves is Sultana's arrogance.
- Sultana and Rozatte
- While the extent of their relationship is unknown, Sultana views Rozatte as an ally, and the two have previously teamed up to keep the peace on Pwurp Island.
- Dinnorah and the Djinn
- In the centuries before she was sealed, Dinnorah used to be friends with the other Djinn. The Djinn are happy to see her once she's unsealed, but she professes no loyalty to them, even saying she might appear as a foe next time they meet. Still, both Dinnorah and the other Djinn say they look forward to their next meeting, implying that mutual affection for each other still exists.
- Dinnorah and Outlander Archwarlock Rozatte
- Outlander Rozatte is the one responsible for unsealing Dinnorah in the present day. Dinnorah refuses to serve Outlander Rozatte, but is intrigued with him because she sees some of her past within his own. She tells Outlander Rozatte that its a bad idea to get hung up on one mistake. While he resents Dinnorah for her betrayal of him, Outlander Rozatte is still determined to make use of her powers for himself.
