??? A great and mysterious sense of duty...

??? My name, it's... Marle.

??? Yeah, it's all coming back to me.

??? It's just like you said.

??? My powers are meant to serve the worlds...

??? *chuckle*

??? In that case, there's only one thing to do.

??? We have to go to THEM!

Ringo It's such a peaceful day...!

Ringo So peaceful... and quiet...!

Ringo It's so peaceful, I could just sing at the top of my lungs! ♪

Ringo Hm...

Ringo Actually...

Ringo Come to think of it, as great as peace is... it's actually kinda boring.

Ringo It'd be more fun if something crazy and over-the-top happened.

Ringo Like if all my friends just came bursting outta the sky!

Ringo Ha! Oh, but that's nonsense!

Ringo Something like that would NEVER happen on such a peaceful day, right?

Tee! O! Glad to see you were able to land safely.

Ringo Whoa!

Ringo Hey, you with the weird outfit!

Ringo You look kinda familiar yourself, now that I think about it...

Ringo But enough distractions! I gotta figure out what's going on.

Ringo Between this guy with the super tight clothes and this yellow fluff nugget...

Ringo How the heck am I supposed to process what's going on!?

??? Ringo, Tee, I know this is sudden, but I need you two to battle.

Marle My name is Marle, and I'm your friend.

Marle Your name is Squares, and you're my friend.

Squares That doesn't exactly answer my question.

Marle But that's everything there is to know.

Squares Then let me ask you this.

Squares What is this place? What is my purpose?

Marle Before I can tell you where we are, we have to do one thing.

Marle Let's test out the powers I've given you.

Squares Powers...?

Marle *gulp* W-Well, here we go.

Marle Are you ready?

Squares R-Ready for what? What's this all about?

Marle It's time for us to battle!

Squares ...What was that just now?

Marle *gleeful squeal* We did it!

Marle I was alone for so long...

Marle And it wasn't like I could just go out and meet whoever I wanted.

Marle Battling someone else has been my dream!

Marle *delightful giggle* And now it's finally come true! ♪

Marle And you know something, Squares? You're quite strong!

Marle I'm not like you at all. The opposite, really. And I get lonely too easily.

Marle I always wanted a friend. Someone I could depend on.

Marle And that's exactly what you are, Squares.

Marle I just can't believe it worked! This is so wonderful!

Squares ...I'm not sure what this Marle is talking about.

Squares But she seems to be happy.

Squares What is this... warm feeling inside me?

Marle Come take a look at this!

Squares What is it?

Marle These are all the different worlds across time and space.

Marle See, look. There's a round one there.

Marle And a square one there.

Marle Among many, many others.

Marle *enchanted giggle* Don't they all look like fun? ♪

Marle Just take a look at all the people who live on these worlds.

Marle They look so happy, they're practically glowing!

Marle That's why I love this place! ♪

Squares Why not visit them instead of just watching them?

Marle I'm afraid that's something we shouldn't do, Squares.

Squares Why not?

Marle Because every world has its own set of rules.

Marle You and I comprehend these worlds in ways that others don't. We have a duty not to intervene.

Marle We mustn't do anything to risk merging the worlds together.

Marle If we did, the rules that make each world unique would get all scrambled together.

Squares Is that so...?

Marle Absolutely! ♪

Marle Ah, forgive me. You haven't existed for very long.

Marle All of this is new to you.

Squares What do you mean? I don't understand.

Marle Case in point. Regardless, I'm satisfied with how things turned out.

Squares I think I'm beginning to understand what it is you do.

Squares You watch over many different worlds from here.

Squares They go about their existence, and you make sure they're functioning as they should.

Squares You maintain the delicate balance of power.

Marle Right, but... why are you bringing this up now?

Squares Because I want to help you.

Marle You do?

Squares We're friends, aren't we?

Marle Squares...

Squares Whenever I see you happy, it makes me happy, too.

Squares If helping you means seeing you happy more, then that's reason enough for me.

Marle Now, let's see...

Marle What can you help with...?

Marle Well, the main things I oversee are what keep the worlds fun and in order.

Squares Fun and order, huh...

Marle Oh, I know! This is what we'll do! ♪

Marle I'll make sure the rules that govern each world are fun.

Marle And you make sure the rules are right and orderly.

Marle How does that sound? ♪

Squares So my job... is to ensure everything is "right"?

Marle Yep! ♪

Marle Wh-What? I've never seen anything like this...

Squares What's wrong, Marle?

Squares The Puyo Puyo and Tetris worlds have merged.

Squares Could that be what you're seeing?

Marle I-It is.

Squares Then it's nothing to worry about. I've already taken care of it.

Squares The inhabitants of those worlds were running amok.

Squares But the two worlds have been separated again.

Squares It's like nothing ever happened.

Squares Everything should be "right" now.

Marle That may be, but...

Squares But what?

Marle We can't really say that "it's like nothing ever happened"...

Squares Why not?

Marle Well, you see...

Marle Their memories of these events may have been erased.

Marle But the connection in their hearts is unbreakable.

Marle Even though they're back in their own worlds, their hearts will call out to see each other again.

Marle I guess, but it DOES sound like a lot of fun, doesn't it? ♪

Marle Because they don't even remember each other, yet there's still a connection between them.
