Vacation Lagnus, aka “wow it’d be cool to have artwork of myself in the Puyo 20th artstyle” and then I realised that’d just look like Lagnus | |

All the Puyo games I’ve played and my thoughts on each (more to be added eventually, or not, I'm lazy lol)
-
this entire game is a lie
-
It’s basic as you can get but it has enough charm that I can replay it sometimes
-
they tried
-
well it’s a lot better than GB Puyo Puyo 1. In fact, this is kinda alright. Not bad.
-
It’s basic in the same way as Puyo 1 but it obviously has the superior Tsu ruleset so by default it’s more enjoyable. The Saturn version is the best version of this game I’ve played by far
-
The floor 2 & 3 theme in this game slaps but for no reason it’s only in this particular version of the game
-
Like I said, this version is the superior version of Tsu that I’ve played. The fully voice-acted cutscenes and CD quality audio from the Puyo DX volume 2 album really adds a lot to the experience
-
Definitely one of my favourite Puyo games, it just is really good all-around. The story, spritework, soundtrack, voice acting, character selection (for the most part) and overall presentation just fills me with a lot of joy
-
For what it is, it’s pretty good. It’s the best that you could hope for a Puyo game that’s playable on the original Game Boy
-
I gotta actually finish this one sometime. Definitely has the one of best soundtracks of the franchise and has an awesome artstyle. UPDATE: Gameplay is weird but it's still cool
-
Another one I have to play some more. I’m really impressed by the character selection and am hoping this gets a fan translation the story mode seems pretty fun
-
Introduced the best ruleset in Puyo, it’s definitely a charming game too. I revisit it sometimes
-
This one deserves a fan-translation patch because it seems like a lot of the content I don’t even know about is untranslated lore stuff. Anyways, I’d be lying if I said I don’t like this game, it introduced Sig which is cool but for the most part I can’t say I understand most of the hype this one gets tbqh
-
I like this one, the voice acting is really good and the story mode is very strong. Just an all-around good Puyo game
-
it’s fun and all but the voice acting in this wasn’t amazing for some reason, plus the heavy reuse of assets from other games is distracting
-
One of the best Sega-era Puyo Puyo games. The amount of content in this in comparison to some of the other Puyo Puyo games is always impressive to me
-
It’s a good game but it sorta steered the franchise in a messy direction. I wish the very-slightly different artstyle in this game was carried over to Puyo Tetris 2
-
This game is lucky it’s the only way to play with the Fever ruleset on Switch, it’s pretty barebones and the Quest characters really hurt the roster’s overall likability but I certainly can’t bring myself to dislike this game
-
It’s good... I’m not too sure what to say this game had pretty high expectations from me tbh and I’m not fully sure if I can say if it delivered or not. Regardless, I think it’s pretty fun.
-
To say the least, I love this game a lot. I wish it was more accessible because honestly it just makes me really happy. I really hope one day this gets a fan-translation patch because this game deserves it like crazy
